As a co-founder of the PGCC, I want nothing more but to unite Purdue students who are interested in genetic counseling!
I have been interested in genetic counseling since my sophomore year of college. Through my years of study, I have found passion in preventative medicine, healthcare equity, data analysis, and genetics.
In my free time I enjoy checking out local coffee shops, going on adventures with my dog, or tending to my house plants!

I’m a first-year graduate student, pursuing a Masters of Public Health. I completed my undergrad at Purdue as well, earning a BS in Health & Kinesiology. I have participated in several research labs, working on projects focused in women’s health. I just recently discovered the career of genetic counseling, however, it is a perfect career to combine my interest in women’s health and clinical medicine. I hope to specialize in prenatal genetics and infertility.

I joined PGCC to connect underclassmen to genetic counselors, help prepare prospective students with applications, and inform the student body of an interesting career field outside of traditional research and medicine. I’ve been able to shadow a couple genetic counslors and really loved the experience of having more one-on-one time with patients while also serving in an educational and advocacy role. This career helps inform patients of their family history and disease risks and really allows them to be more proactive in their own personal health.

I’m a first generation college student who has had an interest in prenatal genetic counseling since junior year in high school. I was always drawn to STEM, but wanted to find a balance of helping clients and lab work. Genetic counseling offers the best of both while studying in an ever growing field. The greatest fulfillment from genetic counseling is to help those through what could be the hardest times in their life, and guiding them to smoother coping/outlook of the situation. A fun fact about me is that I’m also trilingual!
