Pre-Genetic Counseling Club
Our Purpose:
The Pre-Genetic Counseling Club at Purdue University focuses on uniting and supporting students who are interested in the field of genetic counseling. Club meetings will provide help for students preparing for graduate school.
Our Story:
The Pre-Genetic Counseling Club (PGCC) was founded by two Purdue students who saw an opportunity to bring more awareness to the profession on Purdue's campus. The organization was chartered in February, 2020 and is currently looking forward to its first semester at Purdue!
Our Mission:
The Pre-Genetic Counseling Club aims to enhance students' knowledge in genetic counseling and empower them to be competitive applicants for graduate school.
ABOUT US
The PGCC meets approximately two times per month. These meetings consist of professional development workshops and informational interviews with genetic counselors. Meetings are typically in the early evening to allow for classes to finish. Meetings are not mandatory, but serve as an opportunity for professional growth. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, all PGCC events will be virtual until further notice.
We are always accepting new members! Reach out to us if you are interested!
